The Darren Heinrich Organ Trio is a Sydney soul-jazz outfit built around the classic Hammond organ combo sound, blending swing, blues and boogaloo with original compositions. Bandleader Darren Heinrich completed the world's first practice-based PhD in jazz organ improvisation and teaches at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, having studied with Hammond B3 masters Tony Monaco and Dr Lonnie Smith. The trio's album Riddle Diddle: The Prague Sessions was recorded in the Czech Republic and released through ABC Jazz. They are regulars at the Manly Jazz Festival and the Sydney Con Jazz Festival, and play Sydney venues including Vespertine.
