Decibel

Decibel is a six-member new music ensemble formed in Western Australia in 2009 and led by composer Cat Hope, and it now works between Perth and Melbourne. The group pairs acoustic instruments with electronics and plays from graphic and screen-based scores, using its own Decibel ScorePlayer app. Its members are Cat Hope, Louise Devenish, Aaron Wyatt, Tristen Parr, Stuart James and Lindsay Vickery. Its latest album is Speechless, a recording of Cat Hope's wordless opera released on the Swiss label Hat Hut Records in 2025.
