Papalote
Papalote is a Sydney group that has played Latin American music in the city since around 1980 and has long appeared at political and community events. Its members over the years have come from Chile, Argentina, Peru, Cuba, Morocco and Greek-Australian and Armenian backgrounds, and the group owns more than 300 instruments. In 2009 the line-up was Olympia Karanges, Juan Carlos Rios, Aykho Akhrif and Justo y Diaz. Orpheus Music has published arrangements of its songs for recorder and string quartets.
