Arts Programs and Grants

Accessible ArtsNSW
  • WhatThe NSW arts and disability organisation. Its Artist Advisory Service gives a 30-minute online meeting or email advice on grants, careers and letters of support. It also runs Songsmiths, a songwriting program for songwriters with disability and d/Deaf songwriters.

Creative AustraliaGrants
  • HowYou can apply by audio, video, Auslan, handwriting or by speaking your answers. Guidelines come in Easy English, braille, large print and audio.
  • MoneyAccess costs can go in your budget. The Arts and Disability Initiative gives up to $30,000 plus up to $3,000 for access costs. The 2026 round closed on 7 July.

The NDIS and Music

Instruments
The NDIS lists musical instruments and music production as things it doesn't pay for.
Technology
It can pay for technology you need because of your disability, such as a screen reader or magnifier. Items under $1,500 need the least paperwork.
Music therapy
It can pay for music therapy with a registered music therapist, up to $156.16 an hour. It can also pay for supports that help you take part in music.
