The way onto community radio is a person.Find the show that plays your kind of music and listen to a few episodes. Then send that presenter one short email: who you are, a streaming link, and your next gig. Presenters choose what they play, so a note to the right show does more than any upload.
Send a streaming link plus a download in 320kbps MP3 or WAV, hosted on Dropbox, Drive or WeTransfer with no expiry. No CDs.
Everything sent to the Music Director is listened to within 2–3 weeks. You only hear back if you are playlisted. If your music suits a specific show you can service that presenter directly: their address is at the bottom of the show's page. Gig listings go to [email protected] before Monday.
The form wants a file-sharing link holding both the music and your EPK. WAV or 320kbps MP3 only: anything else is rejected.
They say they cannot reply to everyone. Shows can be pitched directly through the contact on each show's page. Interview requests go to their Music Director, whose address is on that page.
Or drop a CD to Hut 23, 142 Addison Rd, Marrickville. They ask you to contact programs directly if your music fits a particular show: reggae, hip hop, local music and the community-language programs.
